When my friends and family come in from out of town, this is where a take them to impress them with Spokane food. All the soups are stellar, but you don't go for the soup; you go for the bread!!! It's out of this world!! Beats Red Lobsters biscuits in my opinion! I can't leave without buying a loaf to take home! Best food in Spokane!
Visiting Spokane for the first time and found this delightful sport. I grabbed the beer and cheese soup, home made bread, and cookies to take back to my hotel room. This may have been the best meal I had while in Spokane. This is a simply must for any trip to Spokane.
Had a wonderful experience getting a cup of soup and bread tonight. I had read someone recommending mixing the beer cheese and tomato basil, and it was fantastic. We also got a bowl of just beer cheese, and it was way lighter than I was imagining, and had a slight spicey kick. Great service and fun environment, love the music selection.
The new location on Madison is absolutely outstanding! The atmosphere, interior design, layout, and service are all exceptional—everything feels carefully thought out and welcoming. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the reopening under the new ownership, and it did not disappoint. As always, I ordered the tomato basil soup with a touch of beer cheese soup on top—an unbeatable combo. The soup and fresh bread are just as delicious as ever! Truly the best spot for lunch in downtown Spokane.
First off let me tell you, don't let the tiny size of this place fool you. It's a tiny building but huge on the deliciousness. The soup I had was the perfect temperature, and the salad was very fresh. And it's simplicity complimented the soup very well. But! My favorite part is the Baked Beer Bread. Holy cow. If you were gonna get one thing off the menu.. Get that. It's incredibly thick and soft. Imagine eating the inside of whole white bread except it's not a boring bland flavor and it's.... Thick! Highly recommend the place. My entire meal with tax was about $10.50

Get the Grandma’s potato soup. From one Idahoan to the 8 billion people in the world? This is Manna from heaven. ErMehGerd!!!! Friendly and courteous staff, the best of Motown playing over the sound system. 19th Century brick walls. Pleasing wood floor and trim. This is an amazing little place that one might tend to look over. Do it. Do it twice. And? Full bar if so inclined. Addendum: I almost have a problem. I’m HUNGRY. And it’s too pretty to eat. ;(.
